Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nano silver fluoride + tricalcium phosphate is an investigational combination of dental topical agents used for the prevention and inhibition of dental caries. Nano silver fluoride (NSF) acts as an antimicrobial and remineralizing agent; silver nanoparticles provide antibacterial activity against cariogenic bacteria like *Streptococcus mutans*, while fluoride ions promote the formation of fluorapatite, which is more resistant to acid than hydroxyapatite. Tricalcium phosphate (TCP) is a remineralizing agent that releases calcium and phosphate ions to strengthen tooth enamel. This combination is typically applied as a dental varnish, particularly in high-risk populations such as children with special healthcare needs.
