NanoAbs are alpaca-derived recombinant variable domain of heavy-chain-only antibodies, also known as nanobodies or VHH antibodies. Developed by Scinai Immunotherapeutics in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences and University Medical Center Göttingen, these biologics are engineered for high affinity and specificity to their targets. They exhibit strong neutralization at picomolar concentrations and exceptional thermostability (up to 95°C). The primary mechanism of action is target-specific neutralization—most notably against interleukin-17 (IL-17) isoforms relevant to autoimmune diseases such as plaque psoriasis. Their small size allows for convenient administration routes including inhalation, topical application, subcutaneous injection, and intradermal injection. Preclinical studies have demonstrated downregulation of key molecular markers in disease models such as plaque psoriasis and effective prophylactic/therapeutic activity against infectious diseases like COVID-19[1][2][3][5][6][7].
