NanoAlum

NanoAlum is a proprietary nanoparticle vaccine adjuvant developed by the Access to Advanced Health Institute (AAHI), formerly the Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI). Unlike conventional aluminum salt adjuvants ('alum'), NanoAlum features engineered particles with specific sizes, shapes, and charges designed to optimize antigen uptake and enhance the magnitude and quality of the immune response. The formulation is designed for high stability at extreme temperatures and compatibility with standard sterilization techniques, making it suitable for use in low-resource settings. AAHI is currently developing NanoAlum as part of combination adjuvant systems (e.g., with the TLR7/8 agonist 3M-052) for vaccines targeting tuberculosis and pandemic influenza.
