Overview
**NanoBio Protect** is an over-the-counter intranasal antiseptic product developed by **BlueWillow Biologics** for reduction of the risk of respiratory infection through topical nasal decontamination. The product is a **0.13% benzalkonium chloride** antiseptic formulated in a patented **oil-in-water nanodroplet** delivery system, with positively charged droplets reported to localize to negatively charged microorganisms on the skin inside and around the nose. Its mechanism is topical membrane disruption of susceptible bacteria and other microbes by benzalkonium chloride, producing rapid germicidal activity rather than a pathogen-specific receptor-mediated pharmacology. It is described as alcohol-free, fragrance-free, moisturizing, and intended for repeated application with a cotton swab every 4 to 8 hours, with claimed protection lasting up to 8 hours.
