Nanobody CD5-chimeric antigen receptor T-cells represent an advanced cell therapy approach where a patient's T-cells are genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR). This CAR is designed with a nanobody as its antigen-binding domain, specifically targeting the CD5 protein, which is commonly found on the surface of malignant T-cells. The smaller size and lower immunogenicity of nanobodies, compared to conventional antibodies, are intended to enhance the safety and efficacy of the therapy. Upon encountering CD5-positive cancer cells, these modified T-cells are activated to recognize and eliminate the cancerous cells. This therapy is currently under investigation for the treatment of T-cell malignancies, including T-cell lymphoma and T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma. Hebei Senlangbio Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is involved in the development of a nanobody-based anti-CD5 CAR-T therapy.
