Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NanoCBD is a pharmaceutical-grade, cannabinoid-based formulation developed by Medlab Clinical using its proprietary NanoCelle delivery platform. The product contains cannabidiol (CBD) as the active ingredient, formulated into submicron particles (approximately 21 nm) for oro-buccal (sublingual) administration. This nanomicellar technology facilitates systemic delivery via the facial lymphatics, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract and first-pass hepatic metabolism to enhance bioavailability. While CBD is a phytocannabinoid, Medlab's formulation is described in clinical pipelines as a synthetic cannabinoid antiemetic, specifically targeted for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). Beyond CINV, NanoCBD has been explored for other indications including anxiety, inflammation, and mental health issues, and has been made available in Australia under the Special Access Scheme (SAS).
