NanoFlex is a topical formulation marketed primarily for the relief of joint pain and stiffness associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The product is often characterized by its use of nanotechnology, specifically deformable phospholipid vesicles (sometimes referred to as Sequessomes or similar nanoliposomes), which are designed to penetrate the skin barrier and reach the synovial fluid within the joint. Unlike traditional pharmacological agents like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), NanoFlex's primary mechanism of action is physical and mechanical; the vesicles sequester to the cartilage surface to provide a lubricating layer that reduces friction and mechanical wear within the joint. In some regional markets, products under the NanoFlex name are also formulated as nutraceuticals containing ingredients such as glucosamine, chondroitin, and herbal extracts like comfrey (*Symphytum officinale*).
