Nanogam

Nanogam is a human normal immunoglobulin (IVIg) solution containing 50 mg/ml (5%) of plasma proteins, of which at least 95% is immunoglobulin G (IgG). It is produced by Sanquin from large pools of human plasma, ensuring a broad spectrum of antibodies against various infectious agents. Nanogam is indicated for replacement therapy in patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency syndromes and for immunomodulation in autoimmune conditions. Its therapeutic effects are mediated through the provision of passive immunity and complex interactions with the immune system, including the blockade of Fc receptors on phagocytic cells, neutralization of circulating autoantibodies and cytokines, and inhibition of complement-mediated damage. The product is stabilized with glucose and contains only trace amounts of IgA.
