Overview
Nanogam Plus is a hyperimmune anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulin (hIVIG) product developed for the treatment of COVID-19. It is a biologic therapy consisting of polyclonal IgG antibodies derived from the convalescent plasma of donors who have recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection. The product is enriched for high-titer virus-neutralizing antibodies that target the SARS-CoV-2 virus, aiming to provide passive immunization and prevent viral entry into host cells. It is a variant of the standard intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) product Nanogam, manufactured by Prothya. Erasmus MC has evaluated Nanogam Plus in Phase I-II clinical trials in the Netherlands, specifically targeting patients who may lack an adequate endogenous antibody response to the virus.
