Nanonext 100 is an albumin-bound nanoparticle formulation of the chemotherapeutic agent paclitaxel, developed by Perini Healthcare. As a microtubule inhibitor, paclitaxel binds to tubulin and promotes the assembly of microtubules while preventing their disassembly, leading to the inhibition of cell division and subsequent apoptosis of cancer cells. The albumin-bound delivery system (nab-technology) improves the solubility of the hydrophobic paclitaxel molecule, allowing for intravenous administration without the need for toxic solvents like Cremophor EL, which are associated with severe hypersensitivity reactions. This formulation enhances intratumoral drug delivery through albumin-mediated transport. It is approved for the treatment of breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and pancreatic cancer.
