Overview

NanoPac is a proprietary, sterile formulation of submicron paclitaxel particles developed by NanOlogy LLC. Unlike conventional taxane formulations that utilize carriers such as albumin (e.g., Abraxane) or surfactants like Cremophor EL (e.g., Taxol), NanoPac consists of pure paclitaxel crystals reduced to a submicron size (typically 600-800 nm) through a patented sonic precipitation technology. This unique physical form allows for the local delivery of the drug—via intratumoral, intraperitoneal, or intracystic injection—creating a high-concentration drug depot at the site of the tumor. The formulation is designed to provide sustained release of the active ingredient, maximizing local therapeutic effect while minimizing systemic exposure and associated toxicities. NanoPac is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for various solid tumors, including pancreatic, prostate, ovarian, and peritoneal cancers.
