Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nanoparticle Mesothelin MOTO-CAR is an early-discovery stage therapeutic candidate being developed by Thunder Biotech for the treatment of solid tumors. The drug utilizes Thunder Biotech's proprietary MOTO-CAR (Macrophage-Oriented Tumor-targeted CAR) platform, which employs nanoparticle-mediated delivery to engineer macrophages to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting mesothelin. Mesothelin is a cell-surface glycoprotein overexpressed in various cancers, including mesothelioma, pancreatic, and ovarian cancers. By targeting macrophages, this approach aims to overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and enhance the phagocytic and tumor-killing activity of myeloid cells against mesothelin-expressing tumor cells.
