Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nanoquinone is a nanodispersion formulation of coenzyme Q10 (ubidecarenone), designed to enhance the bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of coenzyme Q10. Coenzyme Q10 is a naturally occurring antioxidant involved in mitochondrial electron transport and cellular energy production. The nanoformulation aims to improve absorption and tissue distribution compared to conventional forms. Nanoquinone has been investigated as a symptomatic treatment for Parkinson's disease, with at least one multicenter, placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blinded clinical trial conducted in this indication[7]. Its mechanism of action is primarily through supporting mitochondrial function and reducing oxidative stress.
