Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The nanoSFERIC Nipah vaccine is a preclinical-stage vaccine candidate developed by Sferogen for the prevention of Nipah virus infection. It utilizes the company's proprietary nanoSFERIC platform, which consists of self-assembling protein nanoparticles designed to present viral antigens to the immune system. The vaccine is developed using a One-Health approach, intended for use in both humans and animals (such as pigs, which are known hosts) to interrupt transmission and provide protection against the virus. As there are currently no approved vaccines or treatments for Nipah virus, this candidate addresses a significant unmet medical need in global health security.
