Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NanoSTING is a novel immunoantiviral drug formulated as a nanoparticle delivery system containing 2'-3' cyclic guanosine monophosphate–adenosine monophosphate (cGAMP), an endogenous stimulator of interferon genes (STING) agonist. Designed for intranasal administration, NanoSTING aims to activate the innate immune system by engaging the STING pathway, thereby upregulating interferon-stimulated and antiviral pathways. This mechanism provides a broad-spectrum antiviral response against various respiratory pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2 variants and influenza, and is being developed for both prophylactic and early post-exposure treatment of respiratory viral infections.
