Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NanoSTING-003 is an intranasal host-directed therapeutic (HDT) currently in preclinical development by AuraVax Therapeutics for the prevention and treatment of respiratory infections. The drug utilizes a nanoparticle delivery system to activate the Stimulator of Interferon Genes (STING) pathway directly within the respiratory tract. By targeting the host's innate immune system rather than the pathogen itself, NanoSTING-003 aims to stimulate local production of interferons and other immune mediators, providing broad-spectrum protection against a variety of respiratory viruses and bacteria. This approach is designed to enhance the body's natural defenses at the primary site of infection.
