Nanotax

Nanotax is a nanoparticle formulation of the taxane chemotherapy agent paclitaxel, developed by CritiTech using its proprietary supercritical fluid precipitation technology. Unlike conventional paclitaxel formulations such as Taxol, which require surfactants like Cremophor EL and ethanol for solubility, Nanotax consists of pure paclitaxel particles in the nanometer range. This formulation is specifically designed for intraperitoneal (IP) administration to treat peritoneal neoplasms, including those originating from ovarian, colorectal, and gastric cancers. By delivering the drug directly into the peritoneal cavity, Nanotax aims to achieve high local concentrations of the active agent while minimizing systemic exposure and associated toxicities, such as hypersensitivity reactions and peripheral neuropathy, thereby potentially improving the therapeutic index for patients with refractory peritoneal malignancies.
