Overview
Napa9-SPG is a potent Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist oligonucleotide being developed by NapaJen Pharma. The drug utilizes NapaJen's proprietary SPG (schizophyllan, a beta-glucan) delivery technology, which specifically targets Dectin-1 receptors expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells and macrophages. By activating TLR9, Napa9-SPG induces strong innate immune responses, including the potent induction of interferon-alpha (IFN-α). It is currently in preclinical development for applications in immuno-oncology to enhance anti-tumor immunity and as a vaccine adjuvant, specifically for SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, to boost efficacy and immunostimulatory activity.
