Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Collyre Bleu (also known as Collyre Bleu Laiter) is an approved ophthalmic combination drug containing naphazoline nitrate, a vasoconstrictor, and methylthioninium hydroxide (methylene blue), a mild antiseptic and optical brightener. Developed by FRiLAB, it is indicated for the temporary relief of eye redness, irritation, and noninfectious conjunctivitis. Naphazoline acts as an agonist on alpha-adrenergic receptors, causing vasoconstriction of the conjunctival blood vessels to reduce redness and congestion. Methylthioninium hydroxide provides a mild antiseptic effect and imparts a blue tint that acts as an optical brightener, visually counteracting yellow or dull tones in the sclera to make the eyes appear whiter and brighter.
