Overview

NAS114 is a small molecule catalytic antioxidant and superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic being developed by New Amsterdam Sciences. As an analog of the company's lead compound NAS150, NAS114 is part of a platform of inflammatory-reducing therapeutics designed to reduce reactive oxygen species (ROS) and prevent the oxidation of cellular proteins and lipids. By mitigating oxidative stress and ROS-mediated inflammation, NAS114 is intended to treat neurological disorders such as epilepsy and Parkinson's disease, as well as other inflammatory conditions including multiple sclerosis and respiratory infections. The drug is currently in early-stage clinical development, targeting diseases where oxidative damage is a primary driver of pathology.
