Overview

NASHA hyaluronic acid is a stabilized, non-animal-derived hyaluronic acid produced via biotechnological fermentation, engineered for prolonged residence time and improved stability in tissue. It forms a clear, viscous gel used for intra-articular injection (notably in a single-dose regimen) as viscosupplementation in osteoarthritis, providing symptom relief and improved joint mobility. NASHA hyaluronic acid is also used as a dermal filler for correction of facial wrinkles, folds, and lip augmentation. Its mechanism is largely physical—providing volume, lubrication, and cushioning through integration with local tissue and water, rather than direct pharmacological receptor interaction[1][2][3][6][7][9].
