Nasodine

Nasodine is a 0.5% povidone-iodine (PVP-I) nasal spray developed by Firebrick Pharma. As a broad-spectrum topical antiseptic, povidone-iodine inactivates a wide range of respiratory pathogens, including viruses and bacteria, through the iodination and oxidation of essential proteins and lipids. The product is administered intranasally and is intended for the prevention and treatment of the common cold, as well as for the reduction of viral shedding and airborne germ transmission. While it has undergone Phase I, II, and III clinical trials for therapeutic indications, it has been marketed in the United States as a 'nasal hygiene' product without therapeutic claims. The formulation is designed for rapid action, with studies demonstrating the inactivation of most respiratory viruses in under 60 seconds.
