Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of two disease-modifying therapies for multiple sclerosis. Natalizumab (TYSABRI) is an integrin receptor antagonist administered as an intravenous infusion every four weeks. Interferon beta-1a (AVONEX) is administered as an intramuscular injection once weekly. Clinical trials showed that the combination provided a 24% lower risk of symptom worsening compared to AVONEX alone.
