Overview

A combination of two antifungal drugs used primarily for the treatment of fungal keratitis. Natamycin is a polyene antifungal that binds to ergosterol in fungal cell membranes, while voriconazole is a triazole antifungal that inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent 14α-lanosterol demethylation. The combination has shown synergistic interactions in vitro against resistant Fusarium species, though clinical evidence for superiority over monotherapy is mixed.
