Native cat epithelium allergen extract is a biological allergen extract developed by Laboratorios LETI, S.L.U. for the treatment and diagnosis of cat-related allergies. It is produced by extracting naturally occurring proteins from cat dander into a phosphate-buffered saline solution, maintaining the allergens in their unmodified (native) state. The extract contains key IgE-binding proteins such as Fel d 1, Fel d 2, Fel d 3, Fel d 4, and Fel d 7. It is primarily used in allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) to induce immune tolerance in individuals with allergic rhinitis or allergic asthma triggered by cat epithelium. In clinical research, it has served as a reference standard to evaluate the biological potency of modified extracts, such as depigmented or polymerized allergoids, using dose-response skin prick testing.
