Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Natrosol 4% Gel is a hydroxyethylcellulose-based topical formulation used as a placebo control in clinical research conducted by the Universidade Federal do Para. It is specifically utilized in Phase 1 clinical trials to evaluate the efficacy of experimental treatments, such as cannabidiol (CBD) gels, for the management of dentin sensitivity (tooth sensitivity) triggered by professional tooth bleaching with 35% hydrogen peroxide. Hydroxyethylcellulose is a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer that acts as a thickening and gelling agent, providing a vehicle that mimics the consistency of active treatments without containing active desensitizing ingredients like potassium nitrate or CBD.
