Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Natural Eggshell Membrane (NEM) is a dietary supplement derived from the thin layer between the eggshell and the egg white of chicken eggs. It is a complex biological matrix containing naturally occurring proteins (such as Type I collagen) and glycosaminoglycans (including chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid, and glucosamine). Developed and manufactured by Stratum Nutrition (formerly ESM Technologies), NEM is primarily used to support joint health and treat symptoms of osteoarthritis, such as pain and stiffness. Clinical studies have demonstrated that a daily oral dose of 500 mg can provide rapid relief, often within 7 to 10 days, by reducing joint inflammation and protecting articular cartilage.
