nauclea officinalis extract syrup

Nauclea officinalis extract syrup is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation derived from the aqueous extract of the stems and branches of *Nauclea officinalis* (also known as Danmu). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infections, acute tonsillitis, and acute pharyngitis, particularly in pediatric populations. The extract contains various bioactive compounds, including indole alkaloids (such as nauclefine and angustine) and quinovic acid glycosides, which contribute to its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antibacterial properties. In clinical practice, it is used to clear heat and detoxify and relieve swelling and pain. A Phase 4 post-marketing study (ChiCTR1800016745) was conducted by West China Second University Hospital to further evaluate its efficacy and safety in children compared to other standard TCM treatments.
