Overview

NAV2729 is a small molecule inhibitor of the monomeric GTPase ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (ARF6). It is primarily utilized as a research tool to investigate ARF6-dependent cellular processes, including endosomal recycling, actin remodeling, and lipid transport. Studies have demonstrated that NAV2729 can inhibit smooth muscle contraction in the human prostate and vascular tissues, suggesting potential therapeutic utility in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract symptoms. In oncology, it has been shown to suppress the proliferation and viability of ovarian cancer cells and prostate stromal cells, and to abrogate antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) in natural killer cells. Furthermore, NAV2729 has been identified as an inhibitor of the FtsY protein in the signal recognition particle (SRP) pathway of *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*, indicating potential as an antimicrobial agent.
