Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NB-001** is an investigational topical antiviral oil-in-water nanoemulsion developed by NanoBio, now BlueWillow Biologics, for recurrent herpes labialis caused primarily by herpes simplex virus type 1. The formulation contains nanometer-scale cationic droplets and cetylpyridinium chloride, and is intended to physically disrupt the viral lipid envelope at the site of infection rather than inhibit a viral enzyme. In clinical studies, topical NB-001 was administered as a lotion five times daily; a 0.3% formulation shortened lesion-healing time versus vehicle in a randomized study.
