Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NB-002 is an oil-in-water nanoemulsion developed by NanoBio Corporation. It is designed for the topical treatment of skin, hair, and nail infections, demonstrating broad fungicidal activity against various dermatophytes (such as Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum, and Microsporum spp.) and Candida albicans. Its mechanism of action involves a "kill-on-contact" approach, rapidly disrupting the structure of fungal pathogens, including both microconidia and mycelia. Applied topically, NB-002 penetrates the skin and reaches the nail bed via a transfollicular route, without significant systemic absorption, which positions it as a potentially safer alternative to oral antifungal medications that carry risks of hepatic and cardiac toxicities.
