Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NB-01** is an oral investigational botanical drug, originally developed by Dong-A ST as **DA-9801** and subsequently developed by NeuroBo Pharmaceuticals and MThera Pharma for painful diabetic neuropathy. It is a standardized extract prepared from *Dioscorea japonica* and *Dioscorea nipponica*. Preclinical studies associate the product with neurotrophic activity, including increased nerve growth factor signaling and neurite outgrowth; MThera identifies NGF-TrkA and imidazoline I2A-beta-endorphin pathway activation as its major proposed mechanisms. NB-01 completed Phase 2 clinical development for diabetic neuropathy, and MThera holds rights to further develop and commercialize it outside Korea, including potential Phase 3 studies.
