Overview

NB-201 is an investigational nanoemulsion-based antimicrobial formulation being developed by NeoLogics Bioscience/NewBiotics as a topical agent for the treatment of infections, including those caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), particularly in skin and burn wound settings.[9][15] The product consists of an oil-in-water nanoemulsion engineered to disrupt microbial cell membranes, leading to rapid killing of bacteria without reliance on a specific protein target, which may help limit conventional resistance mechanisms.[9] Preclinical studies have demonstrated activity in infected swine skin burn wound models, supporting further development as a broad-spectrum topical antimicrobial for difficult-to-treat skin and soft-tissue infections.[9]
