NB-HORSE-00 (also known as NB-HORSE-001) is a preclinical-stage targeted chemotherapy agent being developed by DNA Nanobots for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapeutic candidate consists of a programmable DNA nanobot (constructed using DNA origami technology) functionalized with targeting antibodies directed against CD37, a tetraspanin superfamily antigen highly expressed on AML cells. The nanobot is loaded with an anthracycline chemotherapeutic payload. By binding to CD37, the nanobot undergoes rapid internalization, delivering the cytotoxic anthracycline directly into the leukemic cells. This targeted delivery mechanism is designed to increase the therapeutic index of the chemotherapy, enhancing anti-tumor efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicities associated with free anthracyclines.
