Overview

NB4168 is a proprietary small molecule pharmaceutical candidate developed by Niagen Bioscience (formerly ChromaDex) for the treatment of Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T) and other rare genetic or aging-related disorders. Designed for oral administration, NB4168 is engineered to deliver significantly higher levels of nicotinamide riboside (NR) to the systemic circulation compared to standard NR supplements. Its primary mechanism of action involves the replenishment of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) via the nicotinamide riboside kinase pathway, which aims to mitigate the NAD+ depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and neuroinflammation caused by mutations in the ATM gene. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
