NBA-1901 is a first-in-class humanized monoclonal antibody that selectively targets the C-C motif chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7). Developed by NB Health Laboratory (NBHL), the drug is designed to treat tissue fibrosis by inhibiting chemokine-induced G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling pathways. CCR7 is implicated in the pathogenesis of various fibrotic conditions, including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and kidney fibrosis, where it facilitates the migration and activation of fibrogenic cells. Preclinical studies in lung fibrosis models have demonstrated that NBA-1901 can effectively shut down signaling and provide therapeutic benefits superior to existing small molecule treatments for IPF. The drug is currently in the preclinical optimization stage, with efforts focused on humanization and manufacturing preparation for clinical trials.
