Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NBB-001 is a proprietary formulation of boronophenylalanine (BPA), developed as a boron delivery agent for use in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), an advanced form of targeted radiotherapy. BNCT leverages the selective uptake of boron-containing compounds by tumor cells; when these cells are irradiated with low-energy neutrons, the resulting nuclear reaction produces high-energy particles that selectively destroy cancerous tissue while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. Neuboron Medical Group has developed NBB-001 as a freeze-dried powder formulation to improve transport and shelf life. It is currently being investigated primarily for recurrent head and neck cancers and glioblastoma, with promising early clinical results demonstrating efficacy and tolerable toxicity[2][3][9].
