Overview

NbCD5 CAR-T is a novel chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy that utilizes llama-derived nanobodies to target the CD5 antigen, a glycoprotein commonly expressed on the surface of T-cell malignancies. The therapy features a bispecific epitope design, targeting two distinct regions of the CD5 molecule to enhance binding affinity and therapeutic potency. Developed by researchers at Ruijin Hospital and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, NbCD5 CAR-T is intended to treat relapsed or refractory (r/r) T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (T-NHL). In early clinical evaluations (NCT07070323, NCT07022964), the construct demonstrated superior expansion and anti-tumor efficacy compared to traditional humanized CD5 CAR-T cells, achieving high complete response rates in patients with aggressive T-cell diseases.
