NBF-006 is a proprietary small interfering RNA (siRNA)-based lipid nanoparticle drug designed to inhibit the expression of glutathione S-transferase pi (GSTP). GSTP is a phase II detoxification enzyme that also modulates key oncogenic pathways such as KRAS and JNK. By delivering GSTP siRNA directly to tumor cells, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with KRAS mutations, NBF-006 aims to disrupt MAPK and PI3K signaling pathways and induce apoptosis. Preclinical studies demonstrated significant antitumor activity and increased survival in animal models. In early-phase clinical trials, NBF-006 showed favorable safety and tolerability profiles with promising efficacy signals in heavily pretreated patients with NSCLC, colorectal cancer (CRC), and pancreatic cancer (PANC). The drug is being developed by Nitto Biopharma for intravenous administration.
