NBIP-1435 is a long-acting synthetic peptide antagonist of the corticotropin-releasing factor type 1 receptor (CRHR1 or CRF1) developed primarily for the treatment of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), a rare genetic disorder affecting adrenal steroid hormone production[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. It is Neurocrine Biosciences’ first investigational biologic candidate to enter clinical trials and is administered as a subcutaneous injection. CRF1 antagonism by NBIP-1435 is designed to normalize adrenal androgen levels and may reduce the required dose of glucocorticoids, potentially addressing significant side effects of standard CAH therapy[2][5][9]. The compound originated from a proprietary peptide research collaboration between Neurocrine Biosciences and Sentia Medical Sciences, with Neurocrine holding exclusive development and commercialization rights[2][3][5].
