Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NBIP-1968 + NBIP-2118 is an investigational fixed-dose combination of two peptide drugs developed by Neurocrine Biosciences for the treatment of obesity. NBIP-1968 is an internally discovered, long-acting triple agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), and glucagon receptors. NBIP-2118 is a first-in-class corticotropin-releasing factor type 2 receptor (CRF2) peptide agonist that acts through a non-incretin mechanism to promote fat reduction while preserving or increasing lean skeletal muscle mass. By combining the potent weight-loss efficacy of the triple incretin agonist with the muscle-sparing benefits of CRF2 activation, the combination aims to optimize body composition during weight loss. Both components are in Phase 1 clinical development.
