NBL-012 is a fully human IgG4 monoclonal antibody that specifically targets the interleukin-23 subunit p19 (IL-23p19). By binding to IL-23p19, it inhibits the IL-23/IL-17 inflammatory axis, resulting in sustained inhibition of Th17 cell differentiation and reduced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-17. This mechanism positions NBL-012 as a potential treatment for chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases including psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The drug is being developed by NovaRock Biotherapeutics and has completed phase 1 clinical trials in China for these indications. As a fully human IgG4 antibody, it is designed to have low immunogenicity and fewer side effects compared to earlier biologic therapies[2][3][5][6][7].
