Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NBM-HD-1 is a novel small molecule histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi) developed by NatureWise Biotech & Medicals Corporation for the treatment of various cancers, including breast cancer and glioma. It is a semisynthetic derivative of propolin G, a natural compound isolated from Taiwanese green propolis. NBM-HD-1 exerts its anticancer effects by inhibiting histone deacetylases (HDACs), which leads to the hyperacetylation of histones and the subsequent modulation of genes involved in cell cycle regulation and tumor suppression. Preclinical evidence has shown that NBM-HD-1 effectively suppresses the growth of human breast cancer cells and rat glioma cells, and exhibits antitumor activity in breast cancer xenograft models.
