Overview

NBP606 is a 13-valent pneumococcal vaccine conjugate developed by SK Bioscience (a subsidiary of SK Chemicals) for the prevention of pneumococcal infections. The vaccine contains purified capsular polysaccharides from 13 serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae conjugated to a carrier protein. It works as an immunostimulant, triggering the immune system to produce antibodies against pneumococcal bacteria. The development of NBP606 was discontinued in September 2021 after reaching Phase 3 clinical trials in South Korea.
