Overview

NC101 is a repurposed drug under development by Naia Limited for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. It acts as an agonist at both the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) and glucagon-like peptide-2 receptor (GLP-2R), making it part of the antihyperglycaemic class. As of the latest available information, it is not a new molecular entity and has not received orphan drug status. The highest reported development phase was preclinical in the United States for both type 2 diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis[1].
