Overview

NCDx (NanoCaflanone diagnostic) is a preclinical-stage, noninvasive molecular magnetic resonance imaging (mMRI) probe developed by Flavocure Biotech in partnership with Baylor College of Medicine. Built on the NanoCaflanone™ platform, NCDx consists of PEGylated caflanone (a cannabis-derived flavonoid) conjugated to nanoparticles. It is designed to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and target colony-stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1-R), which is highly enriched on activated microglia and tumor-associated microglia/macrophages (TAMMs). By binding to the extracellular Ig-like domain of CSF1-R, NCDx is internalized by these cells, enabling high-resolution MRI imaging of neuroinflammation and tumor microenvironments. It is being developed for the early diagnosis, longitudinal monitoring, and precision targeting of central nervous system (CNS) disorders, such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease, as well as oncology indications.
