Overview

NCOR1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the Nuclear receptor corepressor 1 (NCOR1) gene. In the context of cervical cancer research, it is utilized to investigate the molecular mechanisms by which the HPV16 E6 oncoprotein and the transcription factor OCT4 promote tumor progression. NCOR1 acts as a co-repressor that is recruited by OCT4 to the p53 promoter, leading to the transcriptional repression of the p53 tumor suppressor. By silencing NCOR1, this siRNA restores p53 expression and inhibits the malignant phenotypes of cervical cancer cells, such as proliferation, migration, and invasion. This tool is primarily used in preclinical research to validate NCOR1 as a potential therapeutic target in HPV-associated malignancies.
