nCPAP + poractant alfa

A combination therapy approach for treating Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in premature infants. This therapy combines nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (nCPAP) ventilation support with administration of poractant alfa (Curosurf), a natural porcine lung surfactant. The surfactant can be delivered via nebulization, thin catheter administration, or through brief intubation (InSurE method) while the infant is supported with nCPAP. This approach aims to provide non-invasive respiratory support while delivering surfactant therapy to compensate for the lack of endogenous surfactant in premature infants with RDS.
