NCS-DNA E7 vaccine is an experimental therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by researchers at Golestan University of Medical Sciences in Iran. The vaccine utilizes a recombinant DNA plasmid encoding the Human Papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) E7 oncoprotein, which is a tumor-specific antigen consistently expressed in HPV-associated malignancies. To enhance delivery and immunogenicity, the DNA is encapsulated within a nano-chitosan (NCS) carrier system. Designed for intramuscular administration, the vaccine aims to induce potent E7-specific cellular immune responses, specifically activating CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes and stimulating interferon-gamma production. Preclinical studies in murine models have demonstrated that the NCS-DNA E7 vaccine provides both protective and therapeutic antitumor effects against E7-expressing tumor challenges.
