ND0701 is a novel, concentrated subcutaneous formulation of apomorphine free base developed for the continuous treatment of motor fluctuations in patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease who are not adequately controlled by oral anti-Parkinson medication. Unlike traditional apomorphine-HCl formulations, which require large infusion volumes and are associated with significant local skin reactions at the infusion site, ND0701 is up to five times more concentrated and designed for delivery via a small-volume patch pump. Clinical studies have shown that it offers comparable bioavailability to commercial apomorphine-HCl products but with improved local tolerability and safety profiles—exhibiting fewer and less severe infusion site reactions. The mechanism of action is as a potent dopamine D2 receptor agonist, providing symptomatic relief in Parkinson’s disease by stimulating dopaminergic activity in the brain[1][4][5][6].
